Maybe because Bumgarner has been masterful in the playoffs since his ROOKIE YEAR and Kershaw sucks donkey nuts in the playoffs.

Not sure why mlb pitchers aren't judged based on postseason play like NFL QBs are

Likely because their team doesn't hinge on their postseason performance near as much as QBs who play every single postseason game. These guys will pitch twice in a 7 game series.

I'm taking the guy who's going to give me 200+ flat out dominant innings to get my team to the playoffs, in a sport where it's more difficult to get there than any other.

So if you were starting a franchise in the NFL, you would rather have Eli Manning, Ben Rothlisburger, and Tom Brady than Peyton Manning?

National League team--MadBum (being one of the best hitting pitchers in the league)

American League team--Kershaw (that way he doesn't have to face the Cardinals)

Despite his postseason troubles, I would still take Kershaw. I love Bumgarner to death though and he's been one of the best postseason pitchers we have seen in a while.

Bumgarner. Because I'm a Giants fan and a homer and I hate the Dodgers and Kershaw with the fury of 1000 suns
