A lot of the detractors in the poker community keep pointing to this as a really dump reason to play it so much later.

I never got into the watching poker craze. It's one of the more inane and boring things to watch for me.
I guess you could learn some poker strategy if you dial in, but there's so many variables in a cash game you'd never see most of what you need to be looking for by watching on TV that's cut and edited to fit a time slot.

It's pretty cold in there. I played last year and was shivering up until the first break when I could get my hoodie from my car.
