What are they waiting on here? It seems like they are playing a game. You don't leak something saying "if".

Waiting for Brown to implode so the organization has a strong standing to not pay him

Probably hoping he does enough stupid shite that he won’t have legal standing for his money in court.

It’s working.

$30k?

I think that was it.

How is it that these players don’t realize that this is still a job?

Mayock and Gruden playing chess while that dumbass is playing checkers. In the end they’ll keep their money and AB will be playing catch with Kapernick on team black ball.

It turns out Raider management isn't as stupid as everyone thought.

Everyone (including me) thought he would only lose the guarantee if he were suspended.

I thought they were stupid for not suspending him , because he can't be trusted.

He is a narcissistic a-hole. I think he is mad that Mayock wasn’t “protecting” him more during the foot/helmet saga.

His contract has/had an unusual structure.

Main guarantees were 2019/2020 base salaries (28+ million) and 1 mil signing bonus which was really 2 500,000 workout bonuses. He already missed this years bonus.

Since he missed it earlier, the raiders may not have paid him anything.

So if they never actually paid him anything, is he still in the hole like $300k in fines?

AB actually gonna pay the raiders? Lol

That's what contracts are for.

Good for the raiders in sticking to their end of the bargain.
He voided the guarantee money. Doesnt mean they wont pay it as earned, but it means hes on a short leash and they can release him without drama. Should he continue to erode the team.

Teams are bound by the paperwork, and so are the idiots who find shite to bitch about when they hold 30 million guaranteed dollars.

I just got an email from Antonio Brown. He tells me the team “took away my guarantees.” He added there’s “no way I play after they took that and made my contract week to week.” So at this moment, once again, don’t expect AB to play on Monday Night Football.

Made his contract week to week. Brilliant move.

That's my understanding.

Antonio Brown may end up getting no payment at all from the Raiders
quote:

PFT has obtained an analyzed a full copy of the contract. The $1 million signing bonus contained in the deal actually took the form of a pair of guaranteed $500,000 workout bonuses for 2019 and 2020. The 2019 payment nevertheless hinged upon Brown participating in at least 85 percent of the 2019 offseaon program.

Per a league source, NFLPA records reveal that he did not earn the $500,000, which means that he failed to participate in at least 85 percent of the offseason program. Thus, to date, Brown has gotten no payment from the Raiders under the contract.

And he may ultimately get none. Brown’s remaining guarantees of $29.625 million (2019 salary, 2020 workout bonus, 2020 salary) can be wiped out if he’s suspended. Actually, the language of the contract allows the guarantees to be voided even without a suspension; the behavior for which he was fined $53,950 already puts him in default.
