No bologna, it probably would. When I was training in the offseason(pitcher), the first 45 minutes or so was dedicated to mostly body control lifts, poses, and shite to coach smaller muscles and those used for balance and such.

It's completely pointless to have strength if you can't control it or keep the strength throughout motion. And it doesn't help to have big muscles if the smaller ones are spent after an hour.
