I would be leery of agreeing to Silver's proposal. Haiman created the gallows meant for Mordecai and ended up hung on his own creation.

What if Silver gets tired of Mark Cuban's complaining about the refs? Would Silver try to strip him of the Mavericks?

His voice makes the audio hard to take seriously. It sounds like it's just an Adult Swim skit.

Just because he's done other things in the past many would deem worse than this that went unpunished doesn't mean this isn't a big deal.

it's been manufactured into a big deal. a guy with racist tendencies saying something about his half-black gf being seen out with black people (while she could still frick them, per him, mind you)...not a big deal

and the outrage is basically hypocrisy from NBA fans, players, coaches, analysts, etc, b/c they already knew about this

if they couldn't get out and make a big deal out of this during the past decade, they've waived their butthurt, imho

So you can be stripped of your property because of your opinion?

If they try to forcibly remove him I'm Team Sterling. Dude is going to rape them in court. If he doesn't
die before it's over.

I can't imagine Silver would do this so early in his job, unless he wants this to drag out for years in court and ultimately be removed from his position.

silver is nothing more than an agent for the owners, so if they want to try this, they will tell him to do it

Will the NBA have the Clippers trade back for Eric Gordon? If so, I'm all in for this

I Mean.. Sterling would win in court right? Because the only evidence they have was him being illegally recorded and the tapes would be thrown out. Therefore no case..

Right?

it's been pretty heavily reported that the NBA constitution (which is secret) only contains provisions to take over a team/remove an owner if financial issues are in play.

it's honestly NOT that big of a deal
You're NOT being honest if you think it's not a big deal. It is a very big deal, and it's an existential danger to a league which, while dominated by billionaire white owners, depends on the good faith of its millionaire black players and the black basketball culture it promotes and glorifies.

This ain't your Michael Jordan-era NBA.

Reports are that the tapes weren't illegally recorded as she was his "archivist" and she has about 100 hours of additional recordings

his words, objectively and rationally, are not a big deal

note: i'm not saying that people won't manufacture outrage and butthurt, which has become the "big deal"

oh, the same players who already knew about his racist tendencies but had no issues with it until Friday?

that makes perfect, rational sense there

and the NBA doesn't "glorify" black culture
