Since they're about to advertise on the jerseys in the NBA...

More money on the floor...because you can change the stickers every game for whoever pays unlike unis.

I can already see electronic advertising in football...

Yellow line (by Samsung)

Red Zone line (by Target)

On the field.

I don't put anything past leagues in their effort to make money. Soon they will start charging people to take a pee at the game

They started a little bit. During the regular season they'll have an advertisement on the sideline floor, like this one for ZTE smartphones:

Simple answer. Yes. If it makes money, they will do it.

But in all likelihood, in the future I could see embedded ads based on browsing preferences like you see on the Internet (this site) for example.

Within a few years, almost everything will be streamed and customizable. You'll probably have an option to "pay" to not see ads on the court.

Wasn't there any incident in the last year or 2 where a sticker on a basketball court was causing guys to slip and fall?

I did very little research and found that the NCAA banned them in 2012 because of the issues with them.
