Absolutely NO.

I think he should, but the "get off my lawn/the Babe wasn't unanimous" types will make damn sure he doesn't.

Nope.

Don't some voters not vote any players who are on the ballot for the first time because Ted Williams or somebody didn't get in on the first ballot?

A lot of the voters are just stupid.

Look, i think all of the guys we listed should be unanimous, it is ridiculous they arent. However, there is a ton of articles written about the worth of a closer because they dont face half the batters a starter does in their career. And the same morons who write these articles are the ones that vote

Maddux will get close

Jeter will not hit 95%. He was arguably not the best SS in the game for a large portion of his career

If Craig Biggio couldn't even make first ballot, then no way in hell Jeter is unanimous.

Maddux has the best chance. Over 300 wins, over 3,000 strikeouts, and 4 consecutive cy youngs. Unreal

Randy Johnson has all of that as well.

Agreed. I think it's stupid to leave deserving players off on principle. That said, why the hell would Jeter be the first?

He's a legend, but he has won as many Cy Young awards as I have. I wouldn't have expected him to be the first.

Works for me.

In all seriousness, there's no doubt about his hall of game status. I just hope he's the first Diamondback.

I don't think the fact that nobody has ever been a unanimous inductee is because baseball writers are douches necessarily. It's because there are so many voters that some are bound to not vote for someone. It's almost impossible to get over 600 people to agree on anything.

Mo has no chance because of the fact he is a closer. Alot of people think closers are overrated. He won't even sniff unanimous, not saying i agree at all. Maddux has the best chance. Over 300 wins, over 3,000 strikeouts, and 4 consecutive cy youngs. Unreal

If Maddux isn't unanimous first ballot, I'm not sure anyone ever will be.

Maybe posthumously if some superstar dies on the field or serving the country in war time.

Maddux not only has 3,000 K's, 300+ wins, 4x Cy Young winner, and World Champion, but he was also one of, if not THE, greatest fielding pitcher of all time. He has 18 Gold Gloves at the position.

And he has never been associated with PEDs and is considered a nice guy who was devout fans from Chicago and Atlanta.
