Will college baseball rosters be a disaster next year?

1. Seniors allowed to return
2. MLB draft only going 5 rounds, lots of juniors/eligible sophomores return
3. Any HS player not going in first 5 rounds likely to go college bound, which is unprecedented in modern times.

This will cause a major cluster on rosters. So many more players. Some teams will be absolutely loaded, and some mid majors will get some great players who were cut from major players.

Yes. Going to be an undesireable position for college coaches. They’re going to have to cut scholarship players given the NCAA wouldn’t extend roster limits beyond 35 players, which I thought was dumb. There will also be a lot of high school players with nowhere to play that would have been playing college ball otherwise

And there will be a lot less high school players drafted in the first 5 rounds this year than there normally is.

College baseball rosters will be stacked next year!

Will probably be the most competitive year or 2 in CBB, ever.

Lots of mid tier p5 will get some talent, and mid majors will get locals, who transferred close to home.

There’s been a ton of movement for all teams in the transfer portal. A lot of kids that won’t make rosters with the upcoming class coming in. There’s gonna be a lot of competition across the board really because of it.

I would imagine juco baseball will be crazy competitive next spring. I would think that kids that were gonna go relatively high in the draft, but not top 5 rounds would still not go to a 4 year.

Maybe this will show the NCAA how ridiculous they have treated college baseball over the years

It’s pathetic that softball gets more resources
But then again the membership couldn’t even vote for the extra assistant coach

MLB teams are allowed to sign unlimited undrafted players at $20K signing bonus each, so that may be enough for many to skip college.

If I’m not mistaken, you can get drafted after one year if you go to JUCO. Two at most. You may see more talented players head to JUCO and get back into the draft sooner.

I think 11.7 still applies to everyone except the seniors who elect to return, then can return without counting against the 11.7

IMO the coaches need to revisit this and get political pressure put on the NCAA. I don't like politics getting into anything but damn a lot of kids will get screwed over because of the circumstances. At some point common sense needs to be put into it.

Most even playing field ever in college baseball. The mid majors will reap the benefits
