Not making excuses for him, cause he has not translated well in the NFL so far, but, why are people only latched on that one photo? Another angle clearly shows someone closing in the gap. He actually didn't play that bad the rest of the game, and looks a lot lighter.

Geez, just a first pre-season game.

That photo makes a lot more sense regarding his decision.

So his issue is that his vision is from an announcers perspective?

You're right that would explain a lot

I don't k ow what his issue is, but his issue in that video was that there was a LB filling that hole, with another one that was unblocked ready to also fill the hole, so Trent just followed his pulling guard to where the play was designed to go.

He probably could have challenged the LBS given that there was some space, but I'm just not sure that Trent is good enough to get past two unblocked LBs.

....right because every RB only follows the play call and never deviates from the plan.....

How ignorant are you?

The dude is a bigger bust than Jamarcus IMO.

Trent was traded for another first round pick after he had proven he sucked

He at least had a solid rookie season before completely falling off the map. In his first NFL game, he took an iso play right up the middle and ran over Kurt Coleman so bad that Coleman's helmet flew about 10 yards away from the play.

Browns fleeced Indianapolis with the trade and then blew it by using that pick to move up and get Manziel.

I never said that every RB only follows the play call, but thanks for putting words into my mouth?

I even explained how he could have deviated from the design of the play if he thought that he could get past two unblocked LBs, but that he probably couldn't have.

I simply stated that I see why he did what he did on that particular play. Reading comprehension is a skill that you should look into.

This is Tigerdroppings. Water is wet.

That picture tells the entire tale all by itself. had that defender been blocked on the end properly that run would have sprung for yardage. More yardage, in fact than he had even a chance at getting up the middle hole with those 2 backers waiting to pounce.

As I said yesterday, people would rather ignore X's and O's so that they can get a burn in on someone. It's pathetic.

ETA: I take that back. A good RB would have gotten more yards by hitting the cutback lane. Richardson would have been tackled for a loss because it takes him a full 2 seconds to change direction.

That's exactly what you're doing.

So, attack one guy in a huge gap or 5 where there is no gap?

Also, if you watch the video in that link you posted, he never even glances at the hole, so I can assure you he didn't see the LB trying to fill it.

Wait, why is that somehow better? Just because a linebacker is going to fill the cut back lane doesn't mean he shouldn't cut back.
