Why is there so much money in boxing?

I apologize if this question has been asked before. I knew there was a lot of money in the sport, but I didn't realize how much until I saw this graphic: 
I realize it comes mostly from betting, but every other sport has betting as well, and the audience for boxing is vastly smaller than that of soccer, football, basketball, etc. Why is there so much more money?

Because almost all of the money goes directly to the two fighters. And a lot of the time, only one of the two fighters gets the lion's share of the money. It might be split 70/30 or something.
In other sports, money is split up by the entire organization.

here's my thing... Jerryworld wanted this fight, the Dome wanted this fight, but yet it's in a 15k arena in Las Vegas
i wonder if that tarnishes this fight in any way... maybe it's time to build a 60k stadium in Las Vegas for UNLV, NFL games, shows, and big fights like this

Boxers are all-in-one and when they get to the top of the game they dictate everything-- including how much money any participating entity will be allowed to participate.
