So you're ok with letting NFL and NBA players drink and smoke on the sidelines?

Their coaches wouldn't allow it so its a dumb point. That messes with performance in those sports. Baseball and dip is different

But in baseball use during the game it doesnt mess with performance. Cigs and alchohol in football and bball . You're losing this argument. Players making millions of dollars are dipping in the Majors today

Tell you what, you draw up a petition to remove this un-American, unreasonable restriction, and I'll sign it.

So did smoking and football once upon a time.

It's not freedom...freedom is your own bedroom.

They are employees of a business (not only that, they are TV! Advertising to the public) - there aren't many employers in America that let you chew tobacco at work - except maybe an oil rig in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean with nobody around.

And yet they don't apply to alcohol and cigs?

Legal? Check.
Freedom? Check.
They know the risks? Check.

"Nah, that's completely different."

Let men be men. Why you hate freedom?

Best of luck on your crusade.

Rail against one restriction. Applaud another.

Cite freedom.

Drinking alcohol on the job is different than dipping while playing baseball. If you can't see that I can't help you. Baseball players have been using tobacco throughout its history.. sorry bro

Cigs and alcohol:

Legal.
Freedom.
They know the risks.
If you're an adult, you should be able to.
Let men be men.
Enjoy the vice and the sport.

Did I miss any?

Why you hate freedom, bro? They're adults and know the risks.

I'm totes sorry too bro. They will never allow dipping in college baseball. Sucks for you bro.

I don't care about other sports but their ownership won't allow it. Baseball is different though where a good number of players use tobacco. Quit bringing up other sports when it comes to this argument. You obviously have no idea of the history of baseball

Dude.

That's just speculation you have no data for. Lot of great players who smoked. TV wanted it out of sight.

I have no problem with dipping. I have long dipped...but I don't do it at work. I don't dip in the office at work when an employer is paying me. I don't spit juice at the secretaries' legs and say..."it's part of the game."

The baseball field is a fricking job. People are getting paid and frankly dipping or chewing doesn't help you on the field. Greenies maybe. HGH. But this idea that only cigs affects performance, give me a break.

Have you ever had a desire to play a pick-up basketball game at the local gym with even a small Cope dip let alone a giant baseball Redman loose-leaf chew in your mouth?

That would be absurd. Tobacco and baseball have a long history and it includes both cigarettes and chewing tobacco...for some reason, some people want to hang onto chewing tobacco as cigs have gone away.

Chew in your home or car. You're being paid money to do a job. Not get a nicotine buzz with Grizzly. shite, why not allow ballplayers to smoke weed in the dugout?

It's legal in a lot of places now...they can chill in the dugout and players will say (like basketball players have said) it makes them play better and doesn't affect performance.

The point is, I don't care if the league said you can't chew sunflower seeds. That's their right. You are playing under their rules. You don't want to be an employee?

Quit. But you have no right to chew tobacco in public as an employee for a team that you are getting for. Getting a paycheck is not a right.

You want to chew in baseball. Then don't get a paycheck. Join a rec league.
