no student sections; pro teams don't have to fund all of the minor sports that colleges field; larger TV revenue, etc.

NFL teams nickel and dime their fanbase and every turn and really have to rely on a smaller but rabidly loyal fanbase.

I think the TV thing is going to affect the NFL much more than college. I've never been to an NFL game, but I would go to every LSU game if I could. Even though I can watch every game in my living room.

I didn't see this answer on the4 first page and I didn't read the rest, but I think alot of it has to do with Student sections. The big schools with the massive stadiums are pretty much state schools with huge enrollments and have 15-20K seats for the student section. Take those seats out and you are pretty close to the bigger NFL stadiums.

That's a good point. Being on campus helps a lot with that also.

I've heard some pretty unbelievable horror stories about how difficult it is to park and arrive at NFL stadiums.

I've never had problems arriving and parking at NFL stadia. Now colleges, especially in backwards little towns with no mass transit? That's another story...

More people care in college football. There is an emotional attachment to the players/school/stadium.

I don't think this is true. At least not nationally.
