I see a lot of this, these games are beyond cold. But some players tough it out and not wear anything. I don't understand. I know after a while body heat keeps you sort of warm, but its only to a certain extent. Back in high school I had to have sleeves on otherwise I couldn't function because of how cold I was. Are these players just trying to be tough guys who are scared of nothing or what, anybody know?

I hated sleeves in high school because I had to handle the ball. Could be it.

Tough guys. But they all have an excuse as to why.

Ball carriers say they are more prone to fumble in sleeves.

a long time ago, men used to have something called balls, it's what separated them from the women. Today, there are a few of those such men left.

That's the same thing I wonder. Playing without cold gear protection in single digit to teen degree weather baffles me.

i know if its wet id rather go sleeveles.then again, you're going to be cold AF when its like it is tonight either way, so may as well rock the sleevelss and just go chill by a heater on the sideline when you're not on the field.

I HATED playing football in freezing weather, but my college buddies that were from the north or midwest said that they absolutely loved playing in the cold snow.

Its a regional thing. Also, like someone else said, they are tough mfers.

The only people freezing are the backups.

I doubt anyone on D is freezing cold at that level of exertion.

When it's snow or cold rain, I prefer to wear short sleeves because the long sleeves just end up holding more water, which happens to be colder.

I was at the Baylor vs. Texas game this weekend. It was a warm 25 degrees when I entered the stadium and I saw two texas players warming up without shirts on.

Interesting, I never thought about issues with holding ?the ball. I never had to worry about that since I was on the line . Maybe im just a pussy, i was born and raised in the south. I absolutely despise the cold. So playing football in the cold was the worst for me.But i can see how guys who were born and raised up north have no problems with it.

Skill players usually don't wear sleeves because it can cause your arms to become slippery = more fumbles

You tend to get pretty warm playing football. Plus sleeves can restrict motion, give other players something to grab on to, etc. I'm sure they get cold on the sidelines, but while playing at that level, especially on the line, I would bet they tend to warm up

when I played, I didn't like to wear them.

as a D-lineman, it just bothered me.

plus once you get going, running around hitting people it wasn't as cold.

I remember reading something that said Jimbo Fisher doesn't let his skill players wear sleeves
