Both my grandfathers were in the navy, yet ive always rooted for army. Ive seen multiple games in west point, ive been to a game in annapolis as well. Ive also been to numerous army/navy games in the 90s. Saw a couple games at giants stadium and a couple at the vet in philly. Amazing experiences.

Being in the military doesn't mean you have a stake in the game at all.

I'm an Army Officer, but I have classmates from A&M that are on the faculty at the Naval Academy. I have absolutely no ties to USMA. In fact, the pompous attitude and douchiness of a lot of their graduates predisposes me to wish for them to lose every game.

They are not "the Army's team", they are west point's team.

My grandfather and uncle were in the Air Force, but I couldn't care less about the Army-Navy game or any other military football game.

You're an Army officer who happens to dislike people who graduated from the premiere academy for Army officers. Congratulations.

That doesn't mean other people in the Army can't feel a connection to the United States Military Academy, the elite training school for their branch of the military and the alma mater for many of their superiors and colleagues.

well put and when you work with a grad from any of the 3 academies you can tell sometimes it rubs people the wrong way.

Ehh I love football. All football. I watched the Turkey Day Classic on Thanksgiving this year - Tuskegee v Alabama State.

"Bad" football > no football.

Plus Navy is very well coached and runs that option to perfection. They are small. But they do not play bad football. Their execution is very good.

Throw in the fact that this game means something to me, and I'm quite excited.

A co-worker is a 97 West Point Grad. Really cool guy and has become a good mentor/friend so I pull for Army in his honor.

Me too. God aweful cold. Stayed in a hotel with now wife (just started dating at the time), last minute in Runnemede, NJ and it had a mini jacuzzi, dumb and dumber style.

Stayed in and watched LSU get destroyed.

Grew up on the AFA as youngster, have a fine appreciation for Academy football.
