Conner did well, but I thought if he connected punches money would get knocked out? Mayweather was just smiling at him all fight. Where was this power I kept hearing about?

Didn't seem to have much.

The boxing guy on ESPN said it's different because of the gloves. It's lethal without them but weak with them.

Whatever power he had with the 8oz gloves, was gone midway through the 4th. Floyd waited it out and tore him apart.

The problem was he was fighting Floyd and he had boxing gloves on, not 1 ounce or whatever size mma gloves are

Posted this in another thread:

I was surprised at how little power Conor had with his shots. All we heard was how when Conor he hits people they go down

He outweighed Floyd by 20 plus pounds and Floyd doesnt have a mark on him

He was 84/332 (25%) on power punches and 111/430 (26%) on total punches. Anyone know if McGregor's hammerfists counted towards his punch total?

Floyd's head movement is light years better than the guys McGregor has fought.

Also, as mentioned earlier, it's a lot tougher to land flush punches when you have gloves that can cover your entire face for defense.

He has really good power for mma at 145-155. He cuts a hell of a lot of weight to make 145, as you can tell tonight he had 20-25 pounds on mayweather easily

That doesn't translate to boxing power with bigger gloves necessarily

the only big shot mcgregor had honestly was that first round uppercut, he barely missed, but if he landed that it may have ended the fight right there.
