I understand the reason for the rule, but the application of it in the VA v VA Tech game was just ridiculous.

Dude got kicked out of the game for making what appeared to be a regular damned tackle. The booth guys were certain it would be overturned but, no, the kid got booted.

I would argue the rule where a player who gets his helmet ripped off (during the play by the other team) and doesn't immediately fall to the ground and gets a 15 yard penalty as a result is worse
