Caught the last part of an interview with him on Sports Center & he looked like he was at a funeral. He gave a rambling speech about how he grew up in Birmingham & saw racism all round him all the time and as a result " I knew better. I blew it". Said that he had had a long talk with Marcus Spears & that they were cool now. The host closed out the interview by thanking him for his honesty & frankness.

He said earlier that America does not oppress black people.

I have no idea because I refuse to watch him on the SEC Network. I think he is nothing more than a troll and I actually take some satisfaction about him having to apologize for whatever he said.

Telling the truth.

You can't do it on ESPN if it might hurt black folks feelings

From that segment with Joey Galloway and David Pollack?

ESPN must be run by some fricking clowns.

Somebody up the chain told Finebaum that he needs to check his white privilege.

Isn't Finebaum a Jew who grew up in the South… on the 1950s and 60s? If he has an opinion on bigotry, I think Paul is a "reputable" source.

Why was a 32yr old lecturing him on the subject anyway? Jews are the most hated, and discriminated against group/race in the history of mankind. I like Spears, but maybe he should read a bit first.

Unfortunately, they have him on college football live also.

If he apologized for that, it's because he got a call from some big wigs at ESPN telling him to adapt to the narrative or leave our network.

I'd call their bluff… You telling me Finebaum wouldn't be swept up by Fox Sports in an instant?? Hell, there's not a more perfect character in sports than him on FS1's new "embrace debate" strategy.

Wouldn't that help ratings for that show?

Don't wanna start a thread about it, so I'll just post it here.

Stephen A is losing his fricking mind on first take right now.

It doesn't. I respect black people, but the ones who go around preaching like white people still owe them for slavery are extremely ignorant. Blacks and other minorities get extreme benefits and consideration when it comes to college acceptances, scholarships, and grants that it's almost reverse racism now.

The problem is that a small percentage of AA's manage to overcome the cultural issues so the few that do receive large benefits, of a higher percentage were able to take advantage of those benefits then it would be split more evenly amongst them. I don't necessarily think blacks are oppressed but they definitely struggle with more cultural issues than whites. Also who do you think receives more money overall in scholarships, whites or everyone else? I could be wrong but I would guess whites do since more go to college and such.

This.
And the fact that if some black kid aspires to any other profession besides athlete or rapper they're called Uncle Tom's, race traitors..and that's a shiteload of pressure for a teenager.
I work with homeless in BR and while most of them really just want to work, learn a trade, learn to read so they can get to a productive life, you'd be shocked at some of the political/racist crap i hear! Its sad really.
