What players do you think MLB teams need to consider trading soon?

I was reading an article today about how the Diamondbacks are at a crossroads with Paul goldschmidt because even though they have 3 years of club control left, their farm system is trash and it will be damn near impossible for them to pay him in FA and have Greinke on the books and compete.
I started thinking that if the Orioles are out of playoff contention near the trade deadline they should consider trading Machado because they would get an unbelievable haul that would replenish their system and because after 2018 there is no way they will be able to keep him. He's going to get $35 million + AAV and atleast 10 years from a team then.

You could add Mike Trout since the Angels farm is god awful

Maybe the dumbest post I've ever seen. And that says a lot coming from me.

Right about that one. He's gonna get like $400 mil from the Phillies in FA

No one is trading for Trout. It would take an absolutely insane amount of current MLB players and prospects that it would gut any team acquiring him.

Trout is 25 and signed through 2020. Why would you deal him now? The problem is the Angels draft and develop terribly, and on top of that made some terrible FA signings where they forfeited picks.
Trading Trout does not solve these problems. Start drafting and developing in your system, don't make dumb win now moves when you aren't ready and they'll be able to actually capitalize on having the best player in baseball.

The Nationals could trade Bryce Harper.

This was A HUGE gamble...
And BTW... MLB players are destroying the game with their STUPID outlandish demands.....

No they aren't . There is no salary cap and owners are making a lot of money
Posted on 2/12/17 at 6:42 pm to BobCoot
That's not the point....... the game is watered down already with starting pitchers going JUST 5-6 innings and that is called a quality start... and they Demand way too much money.....

So you think the players should get together and let the owners know they all want to be paid less?

Baseball brought in 10 billion dollars in revenue last year. Jeffery Loria, the worse owner in sports, may be selling the Marlins 1.6 billion. He bought the Marlins for $158 million in 2002. That's an 18% compounded annual return.
But yeah, the players are making way too much and ruining the game.

Players share of revenue is down to low 40%

I'm surprised Ryan Braun is still a Brewer

The White Sox should go ahead and trade Jose Abreu, Jose Quintana, Todd Frazier and Davd Robertson. Not doing so after trading Sale and Eaton is just dumb.
The Brewers should have already traded Ryan Braun, so I would bet that will happen at some point this year.
Not sure how the Pirates are going to keep things amicable with Andrew McCutchen after that ordeal.

Todd Frazier is a FA after this season and they should get rid of David Robertson while he still has some value.
Abreu and Quintana are in it for the long haul unless someone offers the White Sox another "king's ransom"
White Sox will be above .500 in 2018 and make a playoff push in 2019. 2020 World Series Champions!!!

As a Mariners fan I'd say trading Cano wouldn't be the worst thing. They're not 'so close' that Cano is the integral piece you can't afford to lose, like you may be able to argue if he was on a borderline championship team.
