Winter Olympics has yet to be awarded but every legitimate host city has withdrawen- The two left are:
Beijing which has no snow!
There's no snow at the mountain venues, so it'd have to be all artificial, which would require so much water that it could impact regional water resources."There could be no snow outside of the racecourse, especially in Yanqing, impacting the visual perception of the snow sports setting."
They'd have to relocate 400 people to build the ski jumping venue, and 1,100 people for the Olympic Village in the mountains. The two mountain venues would be over 2 hours from the Beijing airport. Because of this they would have to build 3 separate Olympic villages because events would be hours away from one another. They along with speed skating venue, alpine skiing venue, sliding center, biathlon venue, cross-country skiing venue, ski-jumping venue, and media center to be built from scratch.
The other city is Almaty. Almaty is located in , Kazakhstan. Borat's homeland has snow but doesn't have enough hotels or security. Per the IOC report, limited hotel space for spectators in Almaty means people would have to consider staying in "alternative accommodation facilities" such as unclassified accommodation; student accommodation; and family home accommodation. Some will not accept credit cards as payment but will accept goats. Low oil prices and exchange rate issues, per the report, could hurt the government's ability to deliver the $1 billion in public money needed to stage the event and security is not up to "international professional standards."
2022 World Cup is in Qatar, who is basically using slave labor to complete the venues. So far over 1200 foreign workers have died working construction on the venues, with 7 years still to go. The game also can't be played in the summer since the average high exceeds 105 degrees.Sharia law is the main source of Qatari legislation according to Qatar's Constitution. In 2013 Qatar agreed to ban all foreign homosexuals and plans to conduct a advertising campaign to educated visitors on how to act and dress while in the country.

World Cup due to it having to be played in the winter so it's not 120 degrees outside

I don't think this will be the case for too much longer.

Good topic. The 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing would be an absolute disaster for the country and for the athletes.
Qatar already is a disaster for reasons already stated in this thread. I would be shocked if they still host the WC in 2022.

Qatar 2022 - if they still host.
It will be a disaster. Attendance will be pitiful because many people from outside the Middle East have no interest in going to a place like that. Also, the cultural differences (especially with alcohol) do not mix with the World Cup at all.

Plus it has already been announced that they will have to move it to a much later starting date then usual which will interfere with basically every big domestic league in the world and possibly the Champions League.

They should move the 2022 World Cup back to Brazil. It's the only way half of the stadiums they built for the last one will be used again.

I don't understand how these gargantuan events became "charity" to ill-equipped countries to make them feel better about themselves.
The Olympics should rotate through about 8-10 countries. Same for the World Cup. It has nothing to do with inclusiveness and everything to do with capabilities.
With that said, Qatar will have the lowest attendance of the three, so I go with that. And even if a bunch of people show up, are people going to listen to their "rules?" No. It's going to get ugly.

FIFA has made it a point to promote non-traditional countries under Blatter
why? he created a voting bloc of "non-traditional" countries to ensure his reign was uninterrupted...and it allowed looting of public coffers
