If he’s successful he’ll get another shot. Probably like Kiffin at a mid-tier P5.

Y'all dont remember this weirdo kissing his players as they got off the bus?

Stop that. Don't do that again for starters.

Hot coaching names are so weird to me. It was the same thing back 15-20 years ago with Mike Nolan, Randy Edsall and Jeff Tedford

It’s always that one good season and the nonstop ensuing hype that follows then they come back down to earth and their name is no longer the "hot" name.

i wanted tom herman or dan mullen to get the Nebraska job. both are perfect for it. i like rhule, but herman and mullen are good fits.

i think herman ends up going to a good p5 gig after a few winning seasons at fau. he's actually never been a bad coach, just had some friction with the 1,001 head honchos in the texas program.

I remember when Dinardo was getting canned and folks at LSU were clamoring for Bob Pruitt

Marshall was a winner under Pruett and he coached under Spurrier. That wouldn't have been an awful choice. Obviously, Saban changed LSU forever and was the right choice. Pruett retired 4-5 years later.

So what you are saying is that it is OK for reserves/second-stringers??

In retrospect, Tom Herman did not do that bad a job at Texas.

Was actually hired by Houston in like 1999 before he backed out.
