Yes, even though they don't have the assets.

The NBA usually bends over for LeBron when he needs a better team.

I think a super team could potentially channel international Melo, and that would be scary.

Right lol. People keep saying "theres no point, no one is beating GSW". Well shite, everyone knows they're the favorites but are they supposed to just give up and not even try? I may not like the way their team is constructed but I appreciate them not just rolling over

How would they be able to pay all of them?

If Carmelo can get a buy out from the Knicks
why would they do this exactly?
They're paying that money regardless. So is he that much of a negative that they'd rather pay him to stay away? Or do they like him that much that they'd do him that favor so he could be in position to possibly get a ring? I don't get it.

Apparently so if the GM is publicly saying that he wants him gone.

Certainly can't rebuild and develop young players with him around.

With the current dysfunction surrounding that team the better question is why keep him?

Pretty sure you can negotiate a buy out for less than the total of the contract, right?

Secondarily, how incompetent is Phil Jackson that he talks down so much on Melo that he ruins any trade value he has and we're now talking about a Melo buyout?

I don't get why Phil agreed to the no trade clause in the first place.

It was an incredibly ill-conceived contract, as was Dwyane Wade's. Consequently that's why both are being mentioned as buyout candidates.

Just because you're on the hook for the money doesn't mean you should stand pat with your bad decisions and have those decisions continue to hamper the development of your team.

I could see Melo coming off the bench. Probably embrace that role. Especially if they landed Wade too? Having Wade and Mello would off the bench would be neutralizer against the Warriors bench.

You would have to think he is at least more open to it as he gets older

I get what you're saying, but George is an immediate defensive upgrade for the Cavs.

They can probably stretch the buyout out for longer than his current deal.
