So if the NFL is going to move into the Vegas market, how long before the NBA follows? I say this because the NBA has been very vocal about their reluctance to enter this market because of gambling. If the NFL is successful there, then the NBA has to change their tune right?

NHL starts play in Las Vegas in 2017. It'll be a good test.
But if the NHL and NFL do well, I'm sure the NBA would want a piece as well.

I don't know much about the town, but how does their population stack up against other cities with NFL franchises?? Vegas can't have the population of places like LA, Miami, Detroit, etc
Population is probably ok at 2mil. But the problem is such a large portion of the locals being in the service industry meaning they don't work the typical 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. Many of your dealers, hotel managers, hotel clerks, bartenders, waiters, etc... will be working on NFL Sundays. So it will depend a lot on So Cal fans traveling and road team fans.

The Super Bowl in Vegas would be the most epic of all time.
frick yeah.
Raiders are perfect for Vegas and hotel taxes will pay the $750 million.
That stadium will be used for so much other shite too. Every big sport on Earth will have big events in that thing.

Would they not benefit from having an additional massive tourist attraction?
Think of all the shite that they will hold in that stadium.

Which team moves there?
I doubt they create a new team.
Sacramento Kings?

A post-Anthony Davis New Orleans Pelicans

Benson family gets a payday and moves the Pelicans?

Kings??? That makes no sense. They are about to open a new arena. Any NBA team moving will go to Seattle first.

Kind of my point.
There are no real options IMO.

I'll really be a negative a-hole: Tom Benson dies and there's a horrible, prolonged ownership struggle over the Pelicans. Meanwhile, the Pelicans sink to being a bottom feeding franchise and attendance drops off. Oh, and sometime during that time, Anthony Davis leaves New Orleans for Chicago. At the end, someone buys the team and moves them to Vegas. That's my worst case scenario for the future of the franchise.

Any guesses on how many Vegas Council members "transition" to Raiders jobs if the team moves?

Really, because almost every single study says just the opposite.

Isn't there a golf course just south of Mandalay Bay?
Yep, it would be dug up. A number of golf courses in Vegas will be gone in the next few years if their property is valuable.

I don't know. Seattle has to be accomidated first one would think.
I thought the Kings were getting a new arena in Sacramento?

I'm sure they'll try, but there won't be much of a fight for the Leblanc side in that struggle.
It's over and Tom protected himself well
