Jumped from FCS, to WAC, to CUSA. Is that their ceiling?

Obviously, they play in the Alamodome, had Larry Coker as a coach, and have had both Arizona schools visit there.

They will jump UTEP and Rice most likely, but is that it?

Maybe UH, but UTSA lacks the talent in the immediate surrounding area that UH enjoys. Pretty much every program lacks that advantage, though.

It has the commuter school problem. Alums don't feel connected to it. Hard to build a base of loyal donators IMO.

That's something UTSA can change in the long run primarily by expanding on campus housing, which UH has done in recent years (second most on campus housing units in Texas).

UTSA is a relatively young school, so it'll take a while for it to develop loyalty. When it comes to developing local interest in the football program, though, it benefits from being the only game in town above the high school level.

RUMOR ALERT Red McCombs is a UTSA grad and when he does the rumor is she will shift her giving away from UT ( family were Mack Brown fans)
if that were to happen UTSA would have all the $$ it would ever need
That being said it will only get the leftovers from the big boys

they wont past Rice
as fricked up as Rice is ,it still has the academics to offer which will appeal to more talent that the leftovers

I would like for them to thrive. I enjoy seeing small programs come up from nothing. I remember seeing Nicholls play UTSA in basketball back in the day. Hope they succeed.

I went to a game there in 2013 when Tulane visited the Alamodome. I think we lost like 10-3 or some bullshite, but anyway... It looked like they had decent fan support for a new program. San Antonio is also a really fun city to visit.

UTSA does pretty well attendance wise for a Conference USA school. I'd imagine they will have great numbers vs. Arizona St.

Just like Bama keeps it's foot on UAB's neck Texas will do the same w/UTSA (and UTEP).

They will never be allowed to be big time unless they break off and become a completely independent school.
