Dallas Tigers? We played them in Disney a few years ago, but your son looks like he's younger. If you're #1 in power rating you are truly the best team in the nation at this point. If you're #1 in points, meh you just played in more tourneys. People will call you points chasers. The best teams aren't the ones with the most points. Look at the points in Louisiana and see how they did in state.

agreed 100%

these special all-star team bullshits that have started getting so big in the last 10 or so years are ruining baseball, IMO. puts too much pressure on the kids.

my younger brother used to be on a normal rec league all-star team...4 or 5 tourneys after the regular season that culminated in state playoffs. now it's 40 weeks out of the year these teams are together.

I agree with you, bro

Power rating ftw! They really are badass. In their last 5 games against major teams, they scored 72 runs while allowing only 9 runs.

It's power ratings. You beat better teams, your rating goes up. It's a formula that is calculated automatically when results are posted on the USSSA site.

I would have killed to play baseball year round as a kid. It simply wasn't as developed as it is now. After our playground season ended we had to vigorously search for tournaments to play in. Now they are everywhere.

It's fun being at that level. My uncle coached the Lousiana Titans baseball team. Went to the world series often, never won it but got 2nd and 3rd place.

The team is done now I am pretty sure since those kids are all playing high school ball now. Hell of a run though.

It really is awesome to see these boys play just like a 3/4 scale D1 team. This organization is awesome at showcasing our talents to universities all over the country in order to promote the players. Last year all graduating seniors played D1 ball while two went in first round of MLB draft. That fact, in my opinion, makes it a worthwhile time-consumer.

It sounded like you meant he used to play on rec teams and now he plays 40 times a week. Sorry I haven't kept up with your brothers life

All this baseball will be ruining many arms over the coming years. May be a couple Tommy Johns in this little bunch sadly, and they aren't the only ones. Hope you son is having the time of his life or is going to get a huge paycheck from this one day.

In a three-year span from 1996-99, Andrews performed Tommy John surgery on 164 pitchers, 19 of whom were high school aged or younger. From 2004-07, that number had jumped to 588 pitchers, 146 of whom were high school or youth league players — a seven-fold increase.
