USC is up 64-53 with 5:42 left in the 2nd (game is on FSN). The Louisiana trio of Dwight Lewis, Marques Simmons and Leonard Washington have had mixed results. Dwight Lewis is probably the best pure shooter on the team now, and is hitting his shots. Washington had to leave the game early on what looked like a badly twisted ankle, and Marques Simmons came in to play defense in the 2nd half mostly, and has done an effective job in shutting down GT's Lawal. Best I've seen us play this season, so far.

My bad. Should be on the MSB (unless the mod is a Rummell grad).

Thankfully, now that John Brady is history, we won't lose these great LA players.

Less to do with Brady and more to do with Tim Floyd having a lot of connections in the LA/MS area IMHO.

Well yeah, but TJ has a better chance of keepin em here than Brady. And Tim Floyd will be at USC 5 years TOPS. He's the Saban-like journeyman. The NBA (again) or ACC will come calling and he won't refuse.

You may be right, he might leave SC in a few years, but he'll leave the program much better than when he found it. There's also the chance that like Pete Carroll, having started a new tradition of winning at the school, he might want to stick around and create a legacy. He's got the groundwork laid nicely.

As far as similarities with Saban goes, Tim Floyd seems to me to be a much less morally bankrupt individual than Nick Saban. He genuinely cares about his players and has a passion for coaching.

Saban seems to me to have a passion for Saban.
And Louisiana ladies (allegedly).

Congrats on the win...But Tech is an absolute joke this year, I wouldn't run with the victory too far.

Coach Paul Hewitt is on the clock. He has a season and a half until he is shown the door.

the fact that he's still on the team after that chickenshit he pulled in the OU game speaks volumes

According to a report in the American-Press of Lake Charles, La., USC recruit Leonard Washington refused to play the final six minutes of his high-school team's state championship game. The team, Washington-Marion, lost by 19 points.

"He shut it down and quit," Washington-Marion coach Mack Guillory told the paper. "We tried to put him back in the game and he refused. All of our kids except one showed character." Floyd said he had not heard about it. Floyd said Paulette Francis, the mother of slain guard Ryan Francis, will accompany the team in East Rutherford, N.J.

If that's true, the young man's obviously got some growing up to do.

What's even more disturbing to me is that his High School coach is diming him out to the press. He is not a man, and he is not 40.

Percy Miller, aka Lil' Romeo isn't getting many minutes. He's 1 for 2 in attempted FG this season, and 0-1 from the line.

I have yet to see him in a game but I hear he's decent. We'll see.
