Bobby Lashley didn't set pro mma on fire, but I've watched him train and he's legit.
I don't know what your definition of legit is, but I do not think Lashley could beat any current heavyweights in the UFC. He has absolutely no gas tank, and has been fed a steady diet of bums in his career.

And he lost to one of those bums as well.

Who Griggs or Thompson? Hell, Wes Sims is probably the most legit guy he has fought. I don't count Sapp because of all of the dives he has admitted and even bragged about.

Legit in terms of putting in time learning technique. I agree, he hasn't done anything as a pro, my opening stated such. He's much more "legit" as a martial artist as silly as it may sound. Additionally, outside of a cage with rules, there's very few humans on earth that would/could whip his arse. There's a whole bunch of folks out there that can whip cm punk.

Never compared him to Punk. Just stated that he was not any good either. Beating a bunch of glorified tough man contest participants does not impress me.
What does that have to do with anything? I'm sure Brock Lesnar can whip a whole lot more people's arse than Mighty Mouse. So that comparison makes no sense even if Punk was the better fighter.

Anyone else enjoy Gall's post-fight comments on CM Punk being young in MMA and that he'd learn and become humble and eventually gain respect for fellow fighters?
I laughed at the irony of a 24 yr old calling a 38 yr old green and not yet a fighter because of his show of disrespect to other fighters.

I was replying to someone calling him not a "real world" fighter, you can interpret that several ways. Size aside, any particular part of his game is more advanced, from what i have seen. Lashley has had camps with top level guys going on 7+ years, cm has not. I've seen Lashley grapple with top level folks and hold his own years ago, and he was a decent collegiate wrestler. there are several folks on this board not named kbeezy that have superior grappling skills to cm at this point, I would wager.

Cowboy Cerrone just booked to fight Gastelum....will Kevin break him in half?

Doubtful. Cowboy's BJJ should help against Gastelum's wrestling, and he should be able to dominate the striking.

Cain Velasquez/Fabricio Werdum II rumored for UFC 207 on December 30

damn. I thought they should have done cain vs stipe next.

Kelvin usually happy to stand and bang, so I see it coming down to a striking contest unless Donald starts hurting him with leg and body kicks.

Cain said he does not want for Stipe who reportedly wants to take a break.

Stipe wants a few months off. December 30 would be too soon for his timetable. Look for the winner of that fight to get a title shot in late March if there's minimal damage. Or it could get booked for April/May.

No he didn't. He had an amateur wrestling background.
The fact that you dont know wrestling is a martial art, tells me all i need to know about your knowledge of the sport.

I'm down with it. Might bring a little excitement to Bellator. I know he is past his prime, but I'll still watch. Might get Wandy to fight him or even Tito. Better than any of that Shamrock, Gracie, Kimbo(RIP) bullshite.
