I'll say my personal favorite card of all time was 189. You had not 1 but 2 flying knee KOs on the main card (thomas almeida, jeremy stephens) followed by a co-main event that ended up being the best fight in ufc history (mcdonald vs lawler) and a main event that gave us 2 of the best walkouts in ufc history with Sinead O'conner singing foggy dew for conors walkout, and Aaron Lewis singing Country Boy for Chad Mendes's walkout. Conor and Mendes were back and forth with Mendes taking conor down for almost 2 full rounds and inflicting damage we had never seen conor take up to that point, until mendes wore down and conor knocked him out with 3 seconds left in the 2nd round to earn a shot at Aldo.

Watched it with 2 buddies in my old apartment. Will never forget that night.

This was the first fight to go beyond the first round…….

I'm aware of this. I'm not understanding why someone would say Nickal has shown nothing on his feet.

bisping had a good quote about the ending of the holloway gaethje fight. he said if it was a movie and it ended like that you would have said that is too much, way over the top, no way it happens like that.

I think Pereira has the best shot of anyone to be the first to win a championship in three divisions.

How do y’all think Pereira matches up against Jon Jones??

I’ll ask again: do you honestly think this was THE best card they could have put together for this monumental event?

Such a stupid question.. I have no clue what went on behind the scenes when trying to line up fights. Neither do you. That doesn’t take away from what this card actually was though. Top to bottom, you won’t find a card as good as Saturdays, no matter how hard you cry for no reason. Saturday night was electric from start to finish

I think prime Jon jones is a big problem for him. I’m just not sure what Jon jones is these days. He has fought like once in 5 years.

Gotta give poatan a lot of props. He has fought like 6-7 fights in the ufc and beat everyone that he fought. A lot of former champs also, adesanya, jiri, jan, strickland, and hill. Pretty crazy to think a guy with that little amount of fights has fought so many former champs and beat them all.

Interested to see him and ankolaev get it. I feel like that is a tougher matchup for him than anyone he has faced besides jan, who fought him well.

Yes it is but you are dealing with a stupid poster, of course they could have put together a better card in a vacuum…. But last two cards have been stacked and we see that the Brazil ppv 301 will suffer due to 3 straight stacked ppv. Considering that 298 and 299 were great and the fact that they were still able to fill this card with 12 champ/former champs and have the card deliver shows how the UFC is a well oiled machine.

April/may will be slow but June is already loading up

Poirier vs islam
Strickland vs costa
Whitaker vs chimaev
Conor vs chandler

But go ahead and relish the pride days where 80 year old tank abbot 1-4 in his last 5 fights was in the same spot on that old card as gaethje vs holloway. Haha.??

Or how stacked ufc 200 was headlined by Tate vs nunes and total bore fest lesnar vs mark hunt and dc ragdolling a fat out of shape Silva. Haha

You said name a better card in the history of mma and I did.

The Holloway fight was better than the two fights that followed it. The two main event fights for 300 were pretty crap.
