The fact that 7 of the 8 national seed advanced and the #1 overall losing to the 3 seed in their regional proves how bad the ncaa botched this one

Meh, not really. UCLA was just as deserving as others if you look at SOS RPI and power 5 conference membership. Really, we just choked it up. Hadn't looked very good up at Oregon and failed to show up with RISP this weekend. Look how many we left on base.

I was more concerned with getting out of a regional than winning a super tbh.

And all the games against Oregon were 1 run games, so it's not like they fell apart.

UCLA had a nice season, with an argument for the #1 seed, but I don't think they were ranked #1 by any poll this year, and Vandy and TCU popped them OOC.

I don't believe national seeding order matters so much, as long as you get one, but I think UCLA might've been overrated as a #1, particularly when considering how the Pac 12 performed.

Great points. I thought they deserved a national seed - when you get to this point in the season I don't think it really matters if you are #1 or #8 - just hosting a SR gives a team so much advantage.
At cws the teams aren't re-seeded and you stay in the same side of the bracket in which you start the tourney

Well, obviously seeding matters from 1-8 because the top seed plays the lowest seed in the brackets etc. So it does matter, but from a standpoint of parity I dont think it matters because especially in college baseball and college basketball any team can beat you on any given night, football not as much...

That argument got weaker when they lost 2 of 3 to Oregon, who ended up as a 3 seed. LSU lost to UF and A&M in the SEC tournament and they ended up hosting a Regional and ultimately advancing to SR.

Doesnt matter the order of the national seeds(heck sometimes they dont even host after winning)..alot of parity in college baseball so it will be reshuffled after the regional round.

I thought LSU's side of the bracket was slightly easier going into last weekend.

But now UF's side is considerably easier.
