I tend to agree with you here. I have an 8 year old who loves to swing his clubs and the only thing I work with him on is the most basic fundamentals: learning how to line up to his target, grip, stance, and having a square clubface at address. I believe those keys will give him a good foundation to build on if he decides to pursue the game. We only go hit when he asks to.


eta: worrying about increasing his distance at this age would be the least of my concerns.

If we had a golf board, there would be a lot more serious answers, without all the baby-back bitches arguing that the kid's too young, isn't having fun, etc. etc.

I bet the, "I'm glad my dad let me do my own thing growing up" crowd, are real interesting people now.

Or maybe they're just mad their dad didn't spend any time with them growing up.

Anyway, good post OP, hope you were able to wade through the bullshite to get the good stuff in here.
