Trading Kevin Love is retarded; here is what the cavs need

I see that none of y'all watched any of these games. Heres what they can or need to focus on.
1) Continuity -- they need a mostly complete roster to rely on for the year. They had to integrate too many pieces mid season and they never got a full team gel
2) Fight for the overall number one seed -- in doing this, you build habits through continuity and a shared goal. I think the cavs downfall this year was deemphasizing the regular season. The regular season is important for habits -- if they habits arent there as a base, its hard to muster them together in the playoffs. The switch is real but its unreliable.
3) Emphasize defense. Ty Lue's biggest problem this year was his emphasis on defense. They played the wrong chess pieces vs the warriors and tried to outscore them consistently; you could see it in Lue's sub patterns; he favored offense over defense consistently
4) Get longer -- this team isn't practically young or long on the wings. They need more quality defenders and youth on the wings
5) get true center -- little known stat but they got killed on the glass in this series. They played the whole year without a true 7 footer. Mozgov helped this a lot because some of those second chance opportunities are just won by the tallest man getting to the ball first. Cant expect a 6'8 Center to consistently win rebounding bouts over 7'0, 6'8, and 6'11 (KD, Dray, ZAZA)
6) Keep love-- love played great in this series (4 of 5 games) and showed that he can/is an important piece to championship. What they need is to trade Tristan Thompson for youth and center.

I remember mozgov was a big deal but his minutes declined as the season progressed and then they let him sign with LAL.
What happened to him being so important?

The Cavs can't add anyone else that matters. They already have the largest payroll. Trading Love is the only way to add all those pieces you mentioned. You think adding a player like Paul George over Love is retarded? How did adding Durant work out for the Warriors?

As the french say, its Le Over. Let it go.

I would trade Love for Hayward, Butler, or George in a second. That is about all they can do to get good enough to not rely on perfect series to win.

Nah, they should ship him. He's come up small in back to back finals.
A good regular season player but not one of the cream of the crop guys when it matters most

played great? did he convert one basket in the paint?

Ty Lue is a bad coach. Too many times the Cavs fell into ISO ball with a ball handler and 4 guys just standing at the 3 point line. Not only did they pull up and take bad jumpers on many of these possessions, but they had no one even attempting to get the rebound. If you want to beat the Warriors, you have to rough them up and take the ball in to the paint. I get that the Cavs were a great 3 point shooting team, but LeBron and Kyrie can score pretty much at will in the paint. Those 3s become a lot easier if everyone is crashing the paint.

Wait, so you don't agree that having JR Smith as a starter and Richard Jefferson getting a decent chunk if minutes is a good thing?
If anyone was ever born to be a sixth man, it is JR Smith.

Get rid of JR Smith and pick up Kyle Lowry or Gordon Hayward

They need to dump Love, Tristan, and Lue to have any chance at e climbing to GS's level.

Love is a problem. You can't deviate that much from your baseline performance level for 11 Finals games vs GS.
