They are turning the sport into a totally offensive game with this crap. That was perfectly clean hit.
Every ball carrier needs to be trained to duck or squat at impact to try to draw that flag now.

Their reasoning is to try and protect the players... The players know the risks involved in playing the game and they still play.

Shoulder pads are designed to allow players to hit with the top of their shoulders. How in the hell do you hit with the top of your shoulder pads without leading with your helmet? The only way I can see for that to happen is to have your head firmly planted up your arse.
Someone needs to send commentators and refs a definition of "crown of the helmet". It does not include the facemask. Maybe they need to paint a stripe on the helmet and make the call reviewable. IF the stripe does not contact first then it is good.

Perfect form tackle. I don't care if it hit him above the shoulders, the defender tackled how he is supposed to. shite happens sometimes.

The only reason he hit him above the shoulders is because the runner lowered his shoulder and head... I want Mizzou to win, but that is still a bullshite call.
