"Legendary" is a bit strong but I remember when he and Cole Hamels were top dogs as prospects in fantasy 10 years ago.

oh well. I won't be sad at all for a baseball player retiring at 35. He's probably going to have a blast unless he wants to play catch with his kids. His shoulder is going to be done by 40.

Crazy. I remember his first start. I was listening to it on the radio while delivering pizzas. I was pretty excited about him. He had a lot of memorable starts.

I remember in like 2008 or 2009 when it was him, Lincecum, and then Bumgarner coming up. I distinctly remember thinking at point "Man, if this team can just get into the playoffs, they'll be tough to beat in a series with that three-headed monster. Never imagined 3 rings.

Makes me feel old.

Is he the skinny, dope smoker who crashed his motorcycle?

I think you've combined two other Giants pitchers. Too many craft, artisan brews for you.

Legendary is reserved for players that I ( a former mlb fan who no longer watches mlb) at least knows their name. Never heard of him.

I stopped watching mlb after McGuire/Sosa/Bonds. Cain might have been, or still is, a great player, but legendary ones are known even by dudes living under rocks.

Pitching does that.
Arm/shoulder.

Lincecum and cain had their time in the sun and beaucoups bucks.

The women in my family went to games during the cain lincecum heyday.

Amen. Great careers. 3 rings.

I hope they find new goals and understandings.

I get the feeling cain is an ordinary guy. As many sports figures are.
