Yes Brady’s longevity is phenomenal, but Mahomes peak is greater and his ability to clearly be the best QB in the nfl compared to his peers is better than anyone before
He does that for 12 plus seasons and it’s ballgame

You're making an argument I'm not. Peak Mahomes has been better than Peak Brady. I'm saying the Pats went through like 5 versions of "The Patriots" and Brady played well and went to/won championships with like 3 of the versions. Like it or not, people value QBs on championships, and Brady was a unique example of leader, talent, health, and surrounded by good enough teams to get 7 of them.
Also, let's not even pretend that the 2004 NFL is remotely similar to 2023 NFL.

He is the best but let's not act like he didn't win the lottery.
They literally changed the game to protect him. It has to piss off the old QBs that got abused week after week. Look at some of the footage from the 9ers vs giants playoff games in the 80s... the qb was THE target. They could hit them anywhere and get at least 2 full steps to lay the hit.

Brady was the best QB in the NFL for maybe 2 seasons of his entire career. Guy was consistently outperformed by Manning, Rodgers, and Brees.

Which is where the peer comparisons come into play. Brady had 3 peers who were on his level, and that's actually being generous. Some of them were better.

W/the way the rules have evolved hardest thing won't be a QB staying healthy all those years.
It will be the luck to play in a division where the other 3 teams suck arse almost the entire time the guy is there which damn near guaranteed he'd always be in the playoffs.

Money has to factor into this as well. It didn't for Brady, but he's just wired differently.
Back in the old days even superstars like Unitas, Namath Bradshaw and Stabler would cling to the job despite their body being destroyed and enduring constant pain because they weren't getting paid that much and they knew it was the last great payday they were going to get and it had to last them and their family for the rest of their lives.
Now a franchise QB like Mahomes can make a legit fortune in salary, endorsements and licensing in a very short time, so why hang around and weather that abuse? Andrew Luck was arguably the most complete and talented QB to enter the NFL and once he hit his numbers he said see ya later.

Brady will always be able to say he beat Mahomes 2× in his 40's on the biggest stage as the underdog.
Also the Bucs super bowl and continued domination well into his 40's is incredibly unique.
