The Titans CEO says years of neglect at Nissan Stadium has put it in serious disrepair. He says it's now known as one of the worst stadiums in the NFL. Titans estimate it would cost $1.8 billion to bring the stadium up to standard with the city's lease thru 2039. @FOXNashville

They should move to Houston and play in the old Astrodome

And move the Texans to Nashville and call them the Nashville Texans.

I bet St. Louis would take them. That stadium they have is a fricking dump.

Maybe routine maintenance should be part of their annual budget

There's a city 3 hours due south with a brand new stadium that I'm sure would spend whatever you want to gussy it up for an NFL team.

Stadia since the 90s have been designed to be easily disposable. Cities build them to attract new teams, then 20 years later, they have to build a new one, but they get to sell it to constituents as a feel good “urban development” project.

Why do they need a new stadium? The current one isn't all that old and is nice enough.

The only thing wrong with that stadium is the ramps are like climbing Mt Everest. It's only 25 years old in a great location. The national economy is going to shite and they want taxpayers to foot the bill. Sounds like an Adams tactic.

It's really sad and pathetic how short the shelf life of stadiums is these days. I didn't think the stadium looked that bad. It was built in 1999. It shouldn't need to be replaced.

The stadium is not a dump but it’s pretty bland and is lacking modern amenities.

Not a Titans fan but outside of the location, there’s not much redeeming about it.

News5 worded it differently

quote:

Titans: $1.8B needed to maintain Nissan Stadium through 2039, but new stadium could cost $2.2B

So they're saying it'll cost 1.8B through 2039 to maintain versus 2.2B for new one now.

25 years, two NFL quality stadiums out of the taxpayers.

All for a franchise that has very little fanbase.

Clown state ran by Nashville clowns.

But they’re definitely a growing one for sure. All the corporate money from companies relocating to Nashville plus the 130 people a day that are moving there make it a very desirable city for increasing a fan base. That city is definitely on the upswing.

Yes, they are growing in numbers of fans of teams who reside elsewhere.

Doubt there has been "years of neglect".
