There is inconsistent punishment amongst the different teams and it is not a performance enhancing drug.

Eta: I have never smoked.

Long past time to legalize or at least decriminalize it nationally

That OR people could hust have the intestinal fortitude to follow the rules in place and abstain from using said substance.

Is alcohol consumption for most college aged kids illegal? You drink in college?

I do not think we would stop testing in College, if we have not stopped testing in Professional Athletics.

I absolutely did however I dealt with the consequences of my actions like a man. I wasn't lobbying on message boards to change the law because "it just isn't fair". Personally, I have nothing against marijuana but if it is something that would keep me from getting a free education and a possible career in the NFL, I would never touch it again. I understand that kids are kids and that they make mistakes, as we all have but to change the rules to make things "easier" is just stupid.

If I was told I had a free ride to LSU if I didn't smoke weed for 4yrs, I believe I could do it. I don't understand why it's so hard for people to not smoke weed when you are given a chance to make millions of dollars or get a free education. I worked 26yrs in an industry that does not allow it's employees to smoke weed for a helluva lot less money.

Time for people to learn the law and be responsible. So you don't test in college so the can not learn and get into the program in the NFL??

No, you are just lucky you didn't get caught every time you drank alcohol underaged. If that lasted a month in your system..... good luck.

If the NFL tested legitmately, over half the league would be suspended.

Disagree - With a drug that makes intelligent people more normal and normal people absolutely retarded, that's the last thing I want allowed on my team. Problem is, the normal people think they're intelligent and man do I feel bad for the people who start off retarded

I agree but these are the rules we have in place right now. Can't put yourself in a bad position, especially if the team is counting on you.

I agree it's stupid they can't smoke. But until it's legal that's how life is going to be, whether in the league or in the workforce. Might as well prepare them for it. Either get better at getting away with it (not that hard) or don't do it.

Look at matheiu vs manziel if you want to see tough love vs turning a blind eye. The way the world is after college ball its best for the kids to hold them accountable. Badger was always going to be great at football but it doesn't mean he has to be the highest paid safety in the league. Tough love is why he's where he is and manzeil can't make a paycheck on a Canadian squad

The varying testing practices from program to program is getting old though. It should be an even playing field if it's affecting the field. Some schools have guys suspended constantly without ever getting in legal trouble, then at others you have guys getting arrested w weed constantly yet they have never failed a drug test

No it's time for the players to just not smoke the shite. I'm all for the legalization of weed too but sometimes you just have to man up and not do things that you enjoy doing, it's part of becoming a productive adult.

Do you know me? Didn't think so. But I will say this. When it comes to decision making, if my choice is going to adversely affect my future, take food out of my childrens mouth, or possibly land me in jail then I have the maturity to make the correct decision. The fact that people let a drug have that much control over their lives is baffling. Instead of make the right decisions in life, make the bad ones and then bitch and complain when "life isnt fair" or "the rules are stupid". In the end, its all about life choices and maturity.
