Anyone planning on checking out the new stadium this weekend?
Thoughts on GA tickets for the time being?
Best of luck to the Cajuns of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette this year.

Below is a sweet video of the construction in progress before they put the Chairbacks in, but it gives you an idea of the scale and size of this beauty.

It looks like it's really nice but one thing looks weird to me.
The stands look like they are a good bit higher than the playing field. It's the same height at the top of the dugout.
as opposed to this:

Regarding the stands behind higher than the playing field... there are two things to note.
One is that if you look closely, you'll see seats at ground level, these are the Field Club Seats, there's about 3 rows right behind the backstop wall that go from dugout to dugout.
The second reason is that they designed it in such a way so that when you go to concessions to get beer or snacks, you'll go under the stadium and still be able to see straight through to the field and not miss any of the action while waiting in line. So the Concessions have a direct view through to the field. I've walked through the stadium in recent days before opening night tonight and it's really beautiful.

I'll be there. Don't really care about GA because I sit in the bleachers anyways. Looking forward to seeing the new digs.

Yea I've always had my season tickets in 1st Base Bleachers directly even with the bag. But, this year I upgraded my seats to behind the plate. Can't wait to get out there and check out the new grandstand!

Man that isnt going to work well at all. No way you can really watch much of the action. There will be things/people blocking you at almost every angle. If that was their thought process it was not very well thought out.

Still doesn't look good to me. LSU has the concession stand at the top so you can still see the action or in the club with air conditioning and the game on tv.

I'll report back about how well it works. No spin.

I believe the plan is have something like this above the bleachers once it's all completed. At least that's what I heard.

We will also have concessions on the upper concourse. And there's also a stadium club that will have air conditioning and TVs and cocktails, wine, and the like. That will be the second level that you see at top of seating. The 3rd level will be 10 luxury suites and the press box will be on the right side of 3rd level.

To bad they didn't renovate the infield dirt area to be real dirt instead of turf

Gotcha, sounds legit. I guess I just don't like how the seats start so high look.

Remember in the Summer we had hat long arse thread rightfully bashing Farmer and Savoie? This process has come a long way. Glad it's finally coming into fruition
