Let's throw in Verlander too. I've also contemplated the idea of adding in Cabrera for the entire Royals' bullpen, but I don't know if my heart could take that.

I really hate to see the Tigers start to dismantle their "win now" team. Verlander is a shell and will never be the dominant ace he use to be. Sucks to have that huge contract also. I think Miggy can still put up huge numbers for another 5 years though. I think you keep him...everyone else is fair game.

I don't think they are. Both guys are FAs after this year and they were going to have to fight to resign them. It's not a bad move to try to build some youth so they don't fall apart as the current roster ages

I don't think anyone is trading for Verlander even if they gave Price along for free with it.

Not only will Verlanders contract not be worth it he isn't even pitching like a #1 or #2. He is setting up to be like CC at the tail end of the contract.

They would have to pay a substantial amount on Verlanders deal to get someone to take him

Dave Cameron of Fangraphs ranked Verlander as the third least tradable asset in baseball yesterday.

I see another Prince like trade in the not so distant future. Tigers will have to eat A LOT of that contract

They will keep him and hope he starts pitching well... I doubt there is even a market for a 32 year old pitcher, who has missed half a season, has a 6.62 ERA this year, and a 4.54 ERA last year...

Who the hell could be less tradeable than Verlander?

I think it was Andrus and Cano ahead of him.

Not sure why Cano would be on the list... I think a lot of teams would trade for him. He is struggling this year but still providing ok defense and based on history you have to think he turns it around. This is his first bad year at age 32.

I don't know if Cano should be first on the list, but he is almost 33, declining fast and still owed $200 million.

The rest of those contracts while bad, aren't near for that much money.

I don't get this. When he's been healthy, he's been MASHING. The problem is his fielding, it's so terribly/horribly/awful/putrid bad.

Mashing is a bit of an overstatement... He started off on fire but outside of that he has been meh
