Guess which ones they lost?

3 less than new Orleans?

Its the NFL. If you're a top tier team then you beat the teams you're supposed to. They did. New Orleans went 3-5 on the road.

New Orleans passes a ton. San Fran can pound it. Don't be dense.

The 49ers have never won a playoff game at Lambeau

Probably because it's too damned cold!

You're the one being dense.

But it's neither here nor there. My point is that "the Saints suck on the road" is bullshite because they only played two, maybe three, really bad games on the road. Merely pointing to the record is lazy analysis.

BTW, San Fran lost the games against good teams...

That's roughly 95% of sports analysis however. I'm willing to bet that more people would pick GB is they were 10-5-1 rather than 8-7-1

The odd thing about the Saints on the road this year is that they also played poorly in 2 domes (Atl and St L) late in the year

The Saints are not the first passing team that plays indoors that people picked against because they were playing outdoors in the cold. Also SF is in Calf but not So Calf. It may not get sub zero in SF, but if you've ever been to Candlestick in Jan, it is not warm either.

aside from the fact that weather affects different play styles in differing ways, there are other things to consider.

if i think the eagles and saints are about even (i do) and the saints have to go on the road and play in some cold weather, why would i not consider that in my pick? it's just the one factor that puts it over the edge in favor of the eagles.

on the same note, i dont think the 49ers and packers are even. i think the 49ers are reasonably better. the weather/home field is still a factor, but it doesn't put the packers over the edge, it just gets them closer to being even with the 49ers, so i still pick the 49ers.

the third option (the one you've chosen) is that there is a pick against the saints conspiracy going around the world, which is obviously just as reasonable as the alternatives provided in this thread.
