His brother Mark operated on my shoulder, I’m too young to have known about Rochs football past but it makes sense cause I remember seeing him around the office and he’s a big dude. Both nice people!

Any old timers on here remember when he was playing for the Green Wave?

Yes. I was 7 in 79. My dad was a huge Archie Manning/Saints fan as was I. We'd go down and catch Saints/Tulane weekend doubleheaders. Tulane was damn good in 79., as was Roch Hondas. Beat Elway and #13 ranked Stanford, beat #19 SMU with Eric Dickerson/Craig James, beat the hell out of John Fourcade and Ole Miss, and beat LSU. Played and barely lost to Penn St in the Liberty Bowl. Tulane became and has been my "second" team ever since. Tulane was fairly competitive in the late 70's early 80's. Got bad in the mid 80's, but by the time I was in high school some guy named Mack Brown got them competitive again. I rocked an Angry Wave t-shirt I bought at the Dome back during high school in the late 80's.

Not sure if he was on team in 79 but Eddie Murray had a long NFL career as a kicker.

I was at that game. Dad would get gifted Liberty Bowl tickets by 1 of the distributors his drivers would deliver oil products to. (Saw Bear Bryant in his last game that way)
