quote:

I went to the rookie symposium with all the other rookies, and people came in and talked to us about finances and how to act like a pro and all that. But they also had us put condoms on bananas — no lie, they brought out baskets of bananas and baskets of condoms, like it was an eighth-grade health class. It felt like they spent more time teaching us about STDs and how to conduct ourselves in public than about how to protect ourselves from scams, risky investments and other financial dangers.

Did Antonio Cromartie sleep through this part of the symposium?

Plax also goes on to talk about shooting himself in the leg and spending time in jail. Good read.

If Plaxico Burress doesn't shoot himself the Giants had a great chance at repeating that year. They were 11-1 before Plaxico shot himself and finished 4-4 without him. I believe that year they also lost Osi Umenyiora for the season in a preseason game with a torn acl.

Well Plax, if you do not use a condom that kid and/or baby momma will become a financial danger.

You can hire someone to handle your money. You dont hire someone to keep you from knocking up hoes. I mean I guess you could but still.

I think it's a lot easier to be smart about who you sleep with and taking preventative measures to make sure you don't have a kid than hiring the right person to manage your money. Sure, child support is a bitch, but I think more players get into trouble mismanaging their money than they do having too many kids. They're both problems, but I think the money issue is greater.

Take a more conservative, cautious approach to life going forward.

Never liked him much, but he's bringing the truth so can't fault him for that.

Odds that your financial investments go bad and results in a severe negative financial impact are undetirmined but less than 100%.

Odds that an out of wedlock kid results in severe negative financial impact is 100%.

That fact that he doesn't consider baby mommas a financial danger explains why he was dumb enough to shoot himself.

I always thought he got a really shitty deal. I mean he was a dumbass but a legit prison sentence seemed overkill compared to some of the people that are roaming the streets. No real record I don't think and he accidentally shoots himself in a completely non violent situation. I actually felt kind of bad for him.
