The Oakland Raiders now think their defense "rules" the AFC West.

...and not the defending Super Bowl Champion Denver Broncos, who fielded one of the best defenses in NFL history only a year ago.

John Elway got a good giggle out of that.

It should be fun to see how the AFC West shakes out in 2016. Between Von Miller, Shane Ray, Demarcus Ware, Shaq Barrett, Khalil Mack, Aldon Smith, Bruce Irvin, Tamba Hali, Justin Houston and Melvin Ingram, I don't think there's another division with that type of pass rushers. The defenses in the AFC West are getting incredible.

It's going to be a dog fight between Kansas City, Oakland and Denver for some playoff spots.

That's right. With one of (might've been worst?) QB ratings in the league last season and nowhere to go but up on that end, we're done.

I think hg was kidding.

Yea, it's funny how analysts have pointed to quarterback play as one reason of failure for Denver in 2016. Peyton Manning was dreadful last season and the defense carried the team. Then, they point to losing Malik Jackson and Danny Trevathan as reasons to why Denver's defense will fail in 2016. As if Denver doesn't have any other good players on that side of the ball...

I admit that Oakland will be good in 2016, potentially, but I think they should muster a winning record before they start trash talking other teams. They haven't held a winning record at the end of the regular season since 2002.

ETA: Vernon Davis was terrible for us. Didn't make a single impact play and dropped more passes than he caught.

At the end of the day it's twitter accounts having fun.

The Raiders have just as many Super Bowls and a 61-50-2 all time record vs the Broncos. It's all good.

And the Broncos have a 30-12 record against the raiders and 3 Super Bowl wins in the last 20 years

I'd say it's 60/40 Norton. He helped in signing Irvin.

Pray that it isn't Jack Del Rio because the defense will underachieve given the supporting cast. Denver's defense finally realized it's potential under Wade Phillips.

He's got a say in the D for sure, but definitely Norton's. Plenty of those offseason signings were with Norton's input for his defense. Irvin signing made that clear out of nowhere.

Certainly not worried about it at this point but we'll see how it goes with about double the talent on D year over year.
