Every year we know it's gonna be the same two teams now: Cavs vs Warriors for the championship. To me, the NBA was way more entertaining about ten years ago because, with the exception of the Celtics and the Pistons (somewhat), there weren't really any super teams. Every team had one or two star guys along with a supporting cast of others, which made the whole season more exciting for the fans. Maybe I'm biased and I enjoyed watching the NBA more back then because the Hornets were actually a decent team, but I feel like the NBA has really gone down in terms of excitement.

Maybe but it really does lack parity and almost seems like a joke

That's the big thing that was different? Teams don't have 1 or 2 good players with role players these days?

It's always a cycle. There's always 1 or 2 teams in the Finals every year for 2,3 years and then some other team takes over. Same thing will happen with GS, CLE.

Yes there are now, but my point is that there was no super teams so more teams had a chance at competing for a championship back then

The same 2 teams playing 3 straight had literally never happened before

I think it's cool. And it will pass, I think it will go to 4 and that's it. Not sure why people act like it's gonna last forever. shite changes every year and seeing who and when someone will dethrone them is part of the intrigue

Except we're staring directly at 4 years

Have you followed the history of the NBA of the last 40 years?

Well yeah, this one is unprecedented, but it'll fade just like all the other rivalries. LeBron is 32 and GS won't be able to keep getting unbelievably lucky and get to stockpile 4 stars. They'll lose 3 of the 4 by 2019 season.

Uh, it's not because same two teams.

Lakers-Celtics 80s? And people loved it. Went nuts.

But that felt like war.

The basketball? skill is obviously there but there is something missing. It's hollow. There is no real rivalries. Even between Cavs/Warriors...LeBrons like hugging everyone, love you man...meet me back at the mansion.

Yes I have but I think that all of you are missing the point. The point is that I enjoy watching real teams who build up through the draft and create chemistry as a team to win championships, not this new age super team crap that has ruined the NBA. That's why I enjoyed it more back then because even though you still knew who the best teams were, the teams built their teams the right way.

lol 10 years ago when the Pistons were ruining the NBA with their shite brand of basketball, 10 years ago when a garbage Cavs team made the Finals, 10 years ago when the 2006 Finals were rigged and cost the Mavs a championship.

Enough nostalgia BS.

and remember the days when there were scores like 78-77 and 96-54? frick that shite.

I basically watched nothing from the playoffs this year and I usually watch a ton. I only watched part of game one for the finals. This was the worst NBA season I can remember

Yeah it's definitely up there for me as far as the worst NBA season too. Yo make matters worse, we didn't fire Alvin Gentry who single handedly turned the pels from a playoff team to a bottom feeder

Well last year there was a 3-1 comeback in the WCF and then ANOTHER one in the Finals. Next year Kawhi will be healthy and Hayward may be with the Celtics etc etc.

I just don't understand this idea that the way it was this one season is the way it's gonna be for a long time

Only time the NBA was boring to me was when the spurs won all those championships. They were so boring to watch.
