It appears they leaked information to the media about the Newman investigation. There were some federal laws broken by releasing the information they did and a federal judge is going to make them feel like a cat that just got "serviced" by an elephant. Not just due to the Title IX violations bot the reasons they leaked it.

I post this not because I think Newman did nothing wrong. I would be OK with whatever outcome happens in that case. I have no inside information but I would suspect there were violations. But because the LHSAA is led by arrogant pricks who protect some and target others.

None, really. But a federal action for Title IX violations would most certainly foment a change in leadership.

This sounds like some smug Newman grad was mouthing off to you about how “ the Lhasa would pay for this”.

What does title IX have to do with any of this?

They’re a private school anyway

We acting like the LHSAA don’t have lawyers and didn’t redact a ton of shite in that document

Sorry, long day and it was a lot of Friday afternoon beers. I am an idiot who meant FERPA. They redacted students but listed parents. When you know the names of the players that makes the deduction as to the student's apparent.

The LHSAA released it (according to them) because a Newman official released information to the media first.

The Ruston paper had the names of parents of the alleged abusers on the Cedar Creek basketball team. Don't think anyone sued them.

Does not mean they could not of....and Newman has more lawyer parents than Latoya Cantrell has frequent flier miles.

That’s long overdue. Politicians and people pretending to care about the kids that play sports are one in the same.

The LHSSA director said in an interview that he started a policy years ago that they wouldn’t provide any information on any aspect of investigations. Claims straight up that if any information from dealings with the LHSSA are leaked, he guarantees that it came from the schools. I didn’t listen long enough to even know what school he was talking about, but he sounded pretty confident in his policy.

So question though

We all know that the LHSAA released the Newman allegations on Geauxpreps

What did Newman release to the media before that? Was it the article on Coach Livingston?

Yet they stripped Opelousas for letting a 9th grader play on the kickoff team in 4 blowout games that the LHSAA had cleared to play.
