Arrieta is the better pitcher this year sure, but the single fact that Jake has thrown zero postseason pitches makes it a no brainer to start Lester (84 postseason innings 2.57ERA) to anyone with a brain.

So if cole pitches vs Lester we lose? What other scenarios lead to the cubs losing? So far weve established jake is better and if Lester pitches we lose. Amd that the pirates ace will be tough to beat (hot take). What if we play the giants?

You pitch your best pitcher and Jake has clearly shown he's a stud. I don't know why you take a chance going elsewhere here. This is also is the playoffs ended today.
And yes hot take, Lester pitches the Cubs will lose. He's been way too inconsistent this year.

What if it goes down to the wire and jake pitches the last day of the season and leaders spot was skipped for some reason?
This is why discussions are incredibly difficult with you. You make a stupid statement then double down on it by ignoring any other possibilities.
Also just for fun. Lester has faced the pirates one time this year. He won. Gave up 1 run over 7. Care to wager a guess at who he pitched against.
You realize inconsistent doesn't mean lose. It means highs and lows. But you're saying it would absolutely be a low...and the worst part is you think you're making an irrefutable point.

The Cubs always fade. They will suck forever and I'm so happy about that too. They're the poor man's Clippers of MLB, without actually being good, and they get the same amount of annoying attention.
