I am starting to think he will be better at the plate than projected. Hitting .300+ for a week is one thing, but he has kept it up for a month now. Plus he has shown a bit of power. He just needs to avoid one of those 0-30 kind of slumps.

He reminded me alot of Prado both in his minor league numbers and as the type of hitter he looked like the first week I saw him. He seems to have a good eye and nice gap power, goes to all fields and doesn't try to do too much, doesn't K alot. I could see him settling in as a .300+/.350/.450ish type guy long term. I think his batting average is particularly legit.

Looks like Durbin got his handful of good innings out of the way all at once.

Braves rookie Andrelton Simmons led all major leaguers with 10 runs saved in June. He was named ESPN's defender of the month on the June 30th edition of Baseball Tonight. Simmons also hit .333 with 3 home runs and 14 RBIs in his first month with the big club.

ESPN's Terry Francona called the 22-year old "incredible", adding that he is a candidate for the National League Rookie of the Year award.

ESPN's Keith Law said of Simmons: "He's the best defensive shortstop in the majors."
