Not a bandwagon fan been a fan for 34 years. It just stinks to watch the braves if the offense sucks the way they are playing now.

I don't follow the farm as closely as some of you, is La Stella a pretty good leadoff prospect?...his career OBP is .408 in the minors

I'm not bashing JHey as a leadoff guy , but the middle of the lineup could REALLY use his bat...this is assuming La Stella gets here and tells Uggz to frick off.

I think he'd be a better #2 hitter, but he'd be fine at leadoff eventually due to his high OBP alone. He's not a huge stealing threat really, but not slow either.

I'd probably go more:
1. BJ
2. LaStella
3. Justin
4. Freeman
5. Heyward
6. Gattis
7. Johnson
8. Simmons

He's got a good OBP, hits lots of doubles, not many home runs, almost never strikes out, walks a decent amount. Seems like a great top of the order guy.

I know strikeouts don't really matter, but in a top of the order guy with little power it seems like a good quality because it gives him an opportunity to get some lucky hits.

Seems La Stella would kill 4 birds with 1 stone: replace Uggla's bat with JHeys down the lineup, get JHey out of leadoff, get rid of Uggz at second, put a decent OBP guy at leadoff.

He has no real skills except walking and contact. Speed, defense, power and arm are all below average from all the scouting reports and watching him this spring.

That said, anyone with OBP skills has a spot in this lineup. I think he starts out around 7th, but will end up hitting 1st or 2nd.

But his defense will be better than Uggla's, plus Uggla has lost his power.

This isn't the backup QB is always the most popular guy on campus scenario, Uggla absolutely needs to sit the frick down and some unproven talent cannot do any worse at this point

La Stella's defense is not good. Probably the worst defensive second baseman in our system.

Here is his spray chart from last year

He still won't be worse than Uggla.

Wren needs to DFA Uggla so Fredi doesn't even have the option of playing him. I'd rather any combination of Pastornicky, Pena, and/or La Stella.

No. I believe he hit 280ish his last year for us with 30 bombs. at one point was 300. He was part of alot of record breaking hr stats as a marlin.

He's 9th all time in hr for 2nd baseman. I thought for sure he was going to break that record.(still could)

I'd say it's very doubtful. He'd need 144 to catch Jeff Kent, and I doubt Uggla will be a starter in the majors after this season, hopefully sooner.

He was awesome for the Marlins, though.
