yeah, rule 6.05l
A batter is out when --
An infielder intentionally drops a fair fly ball or line drive, with first, first and second, first and third, or first, second and third base occupied before two are out. The ball is dead and runner or runners shall return to their original base or bases;
APPROVED RULING: In this situation, the batter is not out if the infielder permits the ball to drop untouched to the ground, except when the Infield Fly rule applies.
eta: doesn't matter if it's intentional or not. a drop is an out

Good news: We might start scoring off Turner finally.
MLB Gameday Scout: "That was pitch number 75 for Jacob Turner; his effectiveness may start slipping, as he holds opposing hitters to a .333 average in the first 75 pitches but they hit .375 off him after that."

Some up-to-the-minute CJ stats:
K%: 25.5%
BB%: 2.4%
Still BABIPing his arse off with a .333 BABIP.

I couldn't believe that when I saw it, but then I remembered that it's Chris Johnson.

As a testament to how bad his hitting is, Fangaphs actually rates his defense as better than his offense.
ETA: His ISO (isolated power, which is just SLG-AVG so you can kind of isolate a guy's power from his singles) is .080 this year. For reference, David Eckstein's career ISO was .075.

I can't remember a move from a FO so obviously bad from the moment it happened than that extension.
Posted on 5/31/14 at 4:45 pm to volfan30
Yeah, and it's still managing to look worse everyday.

He would be a very obvious non-tender candidate at season's end if not for that dumbass extension. There was absolutely no reason for it.

By definition, we could have signed literally anyone or called someone up from AAA and expected similar results.

I'm still amazed at the retarded arse extension.
