Markakis RF
Olivera LF
Pierzynski C
Peterson 2B
Norris P vs. some frick

From MLB.com:

quote:

Three things to know about this game:

- Strasburg did not allow a run in 11 innings against the Braves in 2015, holding Atlanta to 10 hits with 13 strikeouts and two walks.

- Freddie Freeman has punished all Nationals pitching in his career, but he has been especially good against Strasburg. The slugger enters the game batting .429 with three homers in 28 career at-bats against Strasburg.

- Bryce Harper is approaching his 100th career home run. His solo blast in the first inning Monday was the 98th of his career.

Over under 1.5 botched plays from AJP behind the plate?

Depends on if he is using a first baseman's glove or not

That thread made me lol. Just image Freeman running down there as fast as he can and tossing AJP his glove.

As a Nats fan that only watches ATL when we play I'm pretty positive Freddie Freeman is the best player in baseball

I've been following MiLB so much, I had absolutely no clue Bud Norris is the current #2

Because Glavine and Maddux were obviously juicing.

From Dave Cameron's chat today on Fangraphs:

quote:

Gerald: Braves have stated they “don’t want to trade Ender Inciarte”…but will they trade him by 8/1?

Dave Cameron: Depends on how their first half goes. If they’re hanging around .500 and see a legitimate chance to contend next year with Swanson and/or Albies added to the roster, then no. If they’re playing .350 ball and see that 2017 is a likely rebuilding year too, maybe.

Did you not hear Joe and Chip discussing his HOF merits in the opener?

I think it's a matter of guys being injured or rehabbing (Banuelos and Folty) plus not wanting to rush young guys. Not sure why they went with Norris as #2 though instead of a #4/5. Hopefully he can be decent enough to be trade bait at the deadline for a desperate team.
