They should never have let RGIII get away with that to start. The only time a suffix should be used, or first initial, is when another person with the same name (family member or otherwise) is on the same team. The purpose is to help identify players, not honor family heritage.

In the early 1970s, Rudy Tomjanovich briefly had "Rudy T" on the back of his Rockets jersey, which the NBA eventually squelched. Soon "He Hate Me IV" will make its appearance.

I'm very neutral about the whole suffix thing...it has zero impact on my physical and mental well-being. That having been said, I have also noticed many more suffixes than ever before on NFL jerseys. Just an unbiased observation.
