People are constantly asking why LeBron is hated so much. Why were the Warriors hated so much? I get that one the least.

Agreed, we all know that was the 96 Bulls led by Jordan...

It was a slow build for me. People mid-season were already saying they were better than the '97 Bulls and making Steph/MJ comparisons. Then came the "Steph's the best player in the world" talk. Then came their owner saying they're light years ahead of everyone else.

I guess most of it was people trying to anoint them to all-time status before they crossed the finish line.

There will always be a "Next Greatest Ever" on the MSB. People here think "Greatness" just grows on trees

This years Golden State - Fail

Rory McIlroy is the next Tiger - Fail

Jordan Spieth - The next Tiger - Fail

And so on. Just watch the games, enjoy the greatness of the Athletes that you get to see in your lifetime, dont try to label them too fast

To be fair, this looked pretty good up until about a week ago.

I don't hate the Warriors, I just enjoy watching teams that live by the 3 when they die by the 3.

Point being, lets not crown them the best ever, until they are the best ever

They were up 3-1 crusing (had a player get suspended) and lost the last game by 4 points without not scoring a point in the final 4 minutes of Game 7.

Lets not act like the Warriors got swept.

Series could have gone either way.

They lost 3 in a row after being up 3-1. First time ever

Well according to the logic on here, they lost to LeGoat.

And it took their GOAT to have his best Finals ever (of maybe anyone?)

So if everyone thinks he's the best ever and he had the best Finals performance ever...and the Warriors lost by a few points in Game 7 after going 73-9 in the regular season?

Warriors are still in the discussion with the Bulls, the '86 Celtics and the '87 Lakers. They came up 4 points short after what 95 games?

According to the logic on here, no championship? No glory

They got beat by a better team. They cant be the best.

On till next year and the next "best ever"

You think the Pats weren't great because of helmet catch?

It's sports, freak stuff happens.

Bad officiating, you name it.

And losing to one of the greats by the slimmest of margins is no crime.

1991 UNLV was the same damn team that blew-out everyone in 1990 to win the national title (just like last years Warriors)...they lost the next year by 2 points in the Final Four after going 34-0. (They're suddenly not a great team because they lost to Duke by 2 points?)

Its not like this was a one game series. It was a best of 7. And not only did the Cavs beat GS in that 7 game series, they out performed GS the entire playoffs.

Im not saying GS is not a very good/ great team. They are just not "The Best". Which is what this thread is about. They were not even The Best team this year.

I'm sure a ton of the locals who have been diehard fans for forty years loathe these Johnny Come Lately nouveaux riche Warriors fans. Posers.

That's not true at all. (And you know it, if you lived there longer than the last two years.)

Did you live there during the Manute Bol era?

Hell, Warriors have sucked for most of the last 30 years and yet were always top 10 in attendance, even ahead tons of playoff teams.

Basketball has always been huge in the Bay Area...used to read about their fans and watch their team under Don Nelson.

This Johnny Come Lately doesn't hold water based on the stuff I used to see on TV in the 90's...hell people used to call them the best fans...because they mostly stunk all the time but had great attendance.

Fans used to be jealous of Warriors support...hell, Kings are the ones who copied them to try and be the best.

Anyone who thinks Warriors have instant fans because Curry, doesn't really follow basketball at all.

I'm more talking about the new folks here. They definitely didn't care until recently. I went to many games at the coliseum in the Jason Richardson days, and saw lots of montay and steph games too.

Totally agree there are some die hards, and they're great. But they are very few and far between in SF. Lot more in the east bay, but the sf/oakland "rivalry" made for a lot of pride on that side of the bridge
Then the tickets got gobbled up by the noveaux riche the last 2 years. It went from little to medium warriors gear to steph jerseys everywhere.
